Awesome News!!!!
I can't believe it has been close to two months since I have last posted. I have been so busy! It seems that after Halloween everything is a blur! Anyway I do apologize for the delay, but I do have some exciting news! I am a member of the design team for Scrapping Everyday Miracles! I am so honored, proud, and honestly a little nervous! It is Art/Scrap Our Stash Challenge
Scrap Our Stash Challenge blog has an interesting challenge this month. The challenge is to create a layout using the sketch below and to use from your stash add your choice of mist, paint, watercolors or gelatos. I love mist and paint but I rarely use it on my layouts. I was happy with this challenge. I chose to use mist on my layout. The supplies I used are Bazzill Basics, Jenni Bowlin, Ranger and Echo Park. I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!
Pumpkin Patch/Let's Get Sketchy
I know I am behind! My weekends are the only time to scrap and my weekends are filled up right now. If they were not filled up I wouldn't have anything to scrapbook, right? Too Loud!/Paper Secrets
I did this layout using Paper Secrets sketch for a sketch challenge on their blog. The twist is to use alpha stickers. I used pictures my husband took of my son at the time trials at Talladega Speedway. As you can tell from the title he thought it was too loud! Homecoming Prince/Scrap Our Stash
The challenge at Scrap Our Stash is a Tic Tac Toe board. Here is the board and my layout:
I chose arrows, chipboard and twine. The stars are chipboard. I used Basic Grey's Persimmon. I love this collection!!!! I have been dying to use it!! I also used Jellibean Soup for part of the title. This is a picture of my son who was picked as the Homecoming Prince for his class. He got a sash (the letters fell off during the parade) and a little trophy!! He was so excited and so was I!! Family
For this layout I combined two challenges, Use Your Words and Paper Secrets. First I want to say how much I am going to miss Use Your Words. As a former teacher I thought this was a unique challenge blog. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and hope that one day it will return. (Hint, Hint). For their first challenge this month the word is family. I loved the sketch by Paper Secrets and decided to use it for my layout. Here is the sketch and my layout:

For the first challenge for About A Boy, the challenge is "Grunge." Honestly, I wasn't sure about this, but I like the turnout. I found this picture of my son when he was two. A Horse/Sketch N Scrap

I used Carta Bella's Giddy Up. This is such a cute line. I also used Jillibean Soup for the title. These pictures are of my son this past May when we went to visit a friend who has horses. He informed us that he wanted a horse for Christmas or his birthday. It didn't matter which he just wanted a horse! Thankfully he hasn't mentioned it again! I chose sketch #2:
First I chose GH, graph paper and hearts, but the paper I used for my background looked more like ledger paper not graph paper. Next I chose AB, arrows and brads. I still included the hearts by using a heart brad. The supplies I used are Crate Paper and Fancy Pants. Here is my sketch:
My son is in the second grade and his teacher is tough. I requested her because she will prepare him for the third grade. Every night it has been a battle getting him to do his homework. On this particular night he did not argue with me. He did all of his homework. When he was finished he smiled, told me he loved me and that I was the best mom in the whole world! Priceless!! Perfect/About A Boy

For this layout I combined to challenges. The first challenge is from Use Your Words. The word for this challenge is "Sweet." I wanted to do another layout for my wedding album. I chose to pictures from our wedding reception. I used a sketch from Sketch N Scrap. This is the sketch and my layout with some close up photos:

Movies/About A Boy
About A Boy has a new challenge for September. It is to use the colors white, black and one other color. I chose as my "other" color red. Here is my layout:
The supplies I used are Simple Stories, Bo Bunny and American Crafts. This is a picture of my son, Noah and his best friend Kaleb. It was the week before school starts and my husband and I took them to the movies to see Despicable Me 2. We always try to do something special right before school starts. He chose the movies. Hello September! I can't believe it is already here. Along with the new month comes a new sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap. Here is the sketch and my layout:
We have a new addition to our home, a cat. We knew there were a couple of stray cats in the woods behind our house. They had never come up to the house except for this little one. My husband started feeding him and you know once you feed them they never go away! My son feel in love with him and named him Mr. Whiskers. 3 Amigos/123 Get Scrappy!
I found a new challenge blog and it is 123 Get Scrappy!. They have one challenge a month and it is like a tic-tac-toe board with a technique, theme or embellishment listed in each block. Here is the board for this month:
The supplies I used are Echo Park, Tim Holtz, Bazzill, and American Crafts. This picture is of my son with his two best friends Kaleb and Isaac. They were in the first grade together and now will be in the second grade together. They play so well together and never argue. I can't get over how tall my son is. I thought of the picture I took of Noah the day we played Monopoly. He begged us to play. He loved it until he lost all of his money! Needless to say we haven't played it again. It is that time again, school is about to start. I know I have said this before but, where does the time go? Noah is going to be in the second grade. It seemed like only yesterday I was pregnant with him. This past week was 'Meet the Teacher.' I snapped a photo of Noah with his new teacher. We are super excited that she is going to be his teacher!
